Corsham Primary School supports the principles, practice and procedures outlined in the DfE school attendance document. We believe pupils can only take full advantage of their education by regular and punctual attendance at school to ensure continuity of learning.
Number of recordings of children late arriving at school
Pound Pill in June 81
Broadwood in June 70
Total percentage of attendance
Pound Pill for June was 93 %
Broadwood for June was 94%
If you need to report your child's absence, please telephone and leave a message on the office answerphone giving the reason for absence. This is important for our daily registers which must reflect accurately, why a child is not in school.

Eco Schools Green Flag Award
Following our recent assessment, we are delighted to have been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. They wrote to us saying:
We are very pleased to tell you that you and your Eco-Committee at Corsham Primary School have been successful in meeting the requirements for the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award.
We reviewed your application and noted the following:
It’s very impressive that you have formed such a large Eco-Committee. It shows that young people in your school are aware of environmental issues and committed to being active and creating positive change. This knowledge and attitude has provided your school with excellent foundations for the many successes that you’ve achieved this year. Your Eco-Committee were elected democratically, which is a fair and mature approach – well done to selected members on their appointment! The pupil quote provided is brilliant. They’re clearly a passionate and impressive young person, and we’re delighted that they have been given an opportunity to make a difference through the Eco-Schools programme, what a fantastic ambassador for your school and our programme. ‘Wanting to make a difference’ is a great quote to read, well done! It was lovely to read all the comments on your Environmental Review and gain a real insight into the debate and discussion that took place whilst completing it. It’s clear your Eco-Committee are constantly considering what actions they can take to improve their local community and benefit our planet. Your Action Plan shows that your Eco-Committee have carefully considered how they can involve their entire school in their planned Eco-Schools’ activities to achieve maximum impacts and raise awareness amongst their school community. We enjoyed reading about your plans with composting and litter-picking, well done! You have provided practical and fun curriculum examples, which impressively build on the projects you have worked on in your Action Plan. This is a great way to add context to your Eco-Schools work, it means young people at your school are given the opportunity to learn about important environmental issues and then the chance to work on these issues – a great dual approach. You have worked with a variety of different individuals and organisations including Corsham Town Council, Corsham Community Orchard, the Woodland Trust and Wessex Water, relying on their expertise and passion to enrich and inform your Eco-Schools journey. No doubt this was a mutually beneficial experience for all, as these individuals and organisations must have also been inspired by your dedicated Eco-Committee. Your greatest successes link clearly to the experience of your pupils. Your litter-picking efforts have been a great success! This is what the best forms of climate action are about – impactful but achievable things that create a positive experience and prompt more action. We love this! Your Eco-Code is very punchy, clear and easy to digest for those that see it. It’s a direct call to action. We love this! Thank you so much for submitting such a terrific application. We have loved reading about your journey and are incredibly impressed by all you have achieved. We have no hesitation in awarding you an Eco-Schools Green Flag, congratulations!

Corsham Primary School Sports Day Results
With four glorious mornings, Corsham Primary School managed to put on their wonderful sports days. It was great to see all the children enjoying themselves and having lots of spectators cheering them along.
The children took part in a range of events including sprints, bean bag shuttle runs, hurdles, egg and spoon and throwing and were able to earn points for their coloured teams. Scores from the Key Stage two events were added to the scores from Foundation Stage and Key Stage one to give a winning team for Pound Pill and Broadwood.
Pound Pill Cup results:
1st Red, 2nd Blue, 3rd Yellow, 4th Green
Broadwood Cup results:
1st Red, 2nd Blue, 3rd Yellow, 4th Green
By the end of all the sports mornings, the scores were collated to give an overall Corsham Primary School winning team.

School Lunches
The cost of a school lunch from September will increase to £2.65. We regret this increase but sadly is unavoidable with the nationwide increase in food and production costs. Children in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to universal free school meals. From Years 3-6, lunches are chargeable unless parents are entitled to benefit related free school meals. If you have any questions about this, please contact the school office.
